چکیده
Epidermolysis bullosa simplex (EBS) is a heritable skin disorder characterized by skin fragility and blistering. While its most severe variant, dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB) is associated with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), the development of extracutaneous neoplasms in EBS is extremely rare. We report a novel case of supratentorial primitive neuroectodermal tumor (sPNET) in a 7-year male with EBS. Experience of radiation therapy and its challenges in children with EBS has rarely been reported.

Optimizing craniospinal radiotherapy delivery in a pediatric patient affected by supratentorial PNET: a case report.
New advances in radiation therapy for children allow increased conformability and reduced doses to non-target tissues. We report our experience in treating a 4-year-old child with craniospinal tomotherapy after surgery of the primary tumor, a supratentorial primitive neuroectodermal tumor. The tomotherapy plan was compared with conventional craniospinal irradiation, 3D conformal radiation thera...

Epidermolysis bullosa are a group of hereditary skin diseases manifested as blisters on the sites of trauma to the skin. According to the level of blister development, epidermolysis bullosa are divided into the following groups: epidermolysis bullosa simplex, junctional epidermolysis bullosa and dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. The latter two groups are associated with poorer prognosis and hig...

After presenting for a routine screening exam, and 57-year-old man was diagnosed with an incidentaloma-a primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) of the thymus. A member of the Ewing sarcoma family of tumors, a PNET is typically regarded as a malignancy of childhood and adolescence, usually occurring in the central nervous system. In the case at hand, our patient had an extremely unusual presenta...
متن کاملMRI of Primary Spinal Epidural Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor: a case report
Primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) is highly malignant and extremely rare in the spine. We present a case with primary spinal primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PSPNET) which involved epidural space of thoracic spine with cord compression. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed an isointense epidural lesion on T1WI and T2WI. Heterogeneous enhancement following the administration of gadoliniu...
متن کاملDumbbell-shaped primitive neuroectodermal tumor mimicking trigeminal schwannoma: a case report and review of literature.
Primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) is presumably of neural crest origin, and cases of supratentorial PNET in adult are extremely rare. We reported a case of PNET presenting as a dumbbell-shaped tumor at the middle cranial fossa of skull base mimicking trigeminal schwannoma both clinically and radiologically. The patient underwent surgery on July 13, 2010, using a combination of subtemporal,...
